On the  Brink

ON THE BRINK was created to express the urgent
call for the pangolin’s survival. Pangolins are the world’s
most trafficked mammal. They are poached mainly for their
scales which are highly prized for medicinal purposes in China
and Vietnam.

The Catamount Book

The tunnel book reveals the history of the catamount that is listed as extinct in Vermont.Included is a story of the last sighting in The Standard, December 1, 1881

Lotus Harbour

The folds represent traditional patterns from Edo craftsmen

The book is made as a remembrance of my experience
living in Okinawa. It is a collaborative work. Victoria Crain
created the haiku which describes our reverence for our Earth.

Triple-Decker

The interweaving accordion book represents Triple-decker houses which were built in the United States to accommodate newly arrived immigrant workers and their familes. The apartments are decorated with textiles, fabric and tiles that are visually integrated with those of other ethnic families signally a wide range of diversity.

Triple -decker was printed on Lama Li, Strathmore, and Epson digital papers.
Closed size is 10”x 6” x 1.5”. Comes with covered case. Edition of 15

The Quilts of Gee’s Bend

These remarkable works of art are made by women who live in a rural African, American community in Alabama. Their quilt making tradition dates back four generations. The goal was to improvise upon designs that had already been made in order to create a truly unique composition. Materials such as old clothes, cornmeal sacks, corduroy, denim jeans including the inside pockets for darker colors and any fabric that fit the color palette were used .
